Dalton’s Northwest Catering is going green for a better environment!
Our working relationship with Metro and local parks, the World Forestry Center, Willamette River Keepers, and other clients, has motivated us to upgrade our recycling policies, by using environmentally friendly equipment and supplies, which are separated for recycling, and other items which are bio-degradable, compostable.
- Our beverage cups look like plastic, but are actually made from cornstarch, and break down quickly in land fills, used for cold beverage services.
- Our serviceware, forks, knives and spoons look like plastic, are actually made from potato starch, also land fill friendly and break down quickly.
- We use updated paper products, plates and napkins which are designed to be bio-degradable and compostable
Donation Policy
It is our policy to not throw out surplus food items which can be donated within our community. Items which are not claimed by our clients at the catering events are given directly to a woman’s shelter in Tigard, Oregon on an on-going basis, and surplus menu items from our weekend events are given directly to two church organizations which serve our homeless citizens in downtown Portland.
